Besides posting original content to PHTV we many times here try to lend our opinions on other media in Pop Culture. The Yogi Berra documentary is a much watch for baseball fans everywhere. I have posted many times over the years that when it comes to baseball movies if you get it, you get it. These movies are some that can be watched again and again, in terms of movies like Field of Dreams, they can remind you of relationships with your father, they can be about overcomin obstacles and winning...while having fun.
Why bring all that up when it comes to a Documentary? This show about Yogi was a walk down talks about baseball I have had with my dad. The stories, the photos, the videos take the viewer to a time when baseball ruled them all and the Yankees were the biggest thing in the country not name Marilyn Monroe. It is a great show that highlights how under appreciated Yogi was as a player. It dives in to little things that make you see he wasn't just a lucky guy to be on those great teams, he was part of what made them great. The love that his teammates have for him and the love his family has for him comes across in interviews and what seems to be endless photos of Yogi smiling at different parts of his life.
Some of my favorite parts come with stories of Yogi personally. His sone Dale was named after the last guy to get out in the Don Larson perfect game that Yogi caught. When Jackie Robinson steals home in the World Series on Yogi, until the day he died Yogi swore Jackie was out.
Much like the recent Nolan Ryan and Reggie Jackson Documentaries, this is one for the baseball fan. However, you find yourself trying to watch it with someone who claims they are not a baseball fan, they will be hard pressed to not be a YOGI BERRA fan after watching this.
